Review: Acure Body Lotion & Body Wash

My thoughts on Acure's bodycare.

Acure Cell Stimulating Body Wash

Price: $9.99
In-stores: Target, Whole Foods
Online: Acureorganics.com, Vitacost, iHerb, Pharmaca

I have no complaints about this body wash. It's a clear, thick liquid that suds up well in my loofah and leaves my skin softer than other natural body washes I've tried. It smells of cherries/almond extract just like the moroccan argan shampoo/conditioner, so if you already use that duo you might feel overloaded with the scent. I like to have a few body washes on rotation so that's not an issue for me. I managed to grab this on clearance at Target, so it might not be at your Target anymore, but deals are bountiful online anyways.

Comparison of Acure Ultra-Hydrating Body Wash & Acure Cell Stimulating Body Wash

Acure Ultra-Hydrating Body Wash*

Price: $9.99

This one has a creamier consistency than the cell stimulating one and is a little harder to sud up. Despite the name, I don't think this leaves my skin any more hydrated than the cell stimulating one. The "coconut + pumpkin" scent does smell coconuty with a twist of something, but it doesn't resemble pumpkin curry if that's what you're expecting. I prefer the cell stimulating one based on scent and because it suds up better.

Acure Firming Body Lotion*

Price: $9.99

"78% of people reported firmer skin"

Something I dislike about Acure's new packaging is that it places more focus on statistics like these. Although Acure's old design looked less simple and modern, I like how that one placed emphasis on their ingredients and their status as vegan/cruelty-free. I find statistics to be a shady marketing tactic that makes me question how good the product is if they have to flaunt numbers at me instead of telling me more about the actual product.

That being said, I do like this lotion. I haven't exactly noticed firmer skin, but this lotion leaves my skin super soft, which probably does help in the long run with firming it up. If you've tried Acure's leave-in conditioner, this lotion has the same lemongrass scent but it's not noticeable once the lotion sinks in. A few different scents of this lotion are available, including lavender and mandarin orange.

Overall, I am impressed with Acure's bodycare. They don't have a lot of options if you like more traditional floral or fruity smells, but the performance is great.
