Review: 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze - Peach
100% Pure is a popular higher-end natural brand. Was this lipstick worth $18?
Read on to find out!
Background
100% Pure is a little out of my budget, but I've heard nothing but great things about this brand.
Then, I was traveling and unexpectedly came across a 100% Pure store. I got super excited to swatch things but wasn't really in an impulse buy mood. However, my bf saw my excitement and offered to pay (shoutout to him for making this review possible)!
I didn't have too much time to browse, so I just grabbed this lip glaze because I've seen it pop up on my Instagram feed a few times (damn you, Instagram).
Ingredients
- fruit pigmented (no dyes or artificial coloring)
- organic
- cruelty-free & vegan.
THIS THING MAKES ME FEEL SO GLAMOROUS
Wearing 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze - Peach |
This packaging satisfies my pretty packaging needs with its mirrored tube that also has some weight to it.
When first applied, the lip glaze is creamy, shiny, and pigmented. It gives a smooth, even color that is very flattering.
After 1-2 hours, the shine goes away and I'm left with a lighter stain. My lips start to get dry around this point, which means I either need to re-apply or put on a lip balm. This doesn't bother me because I don't mind reapplying and I feel that some of this product's appeal is the super creamy feeling when you apply it.
Also, it has a light fruity, berry scent which is a nice change from my other vanilla/coconut scented lipsticks.
Con: It's not long lasting. This would not be an everyday lipstick for me, as I feel I'd go through it quickly and cannot justify regularly buying it.
Swatch: 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze - Peach |
Peach lipstick comparison
vs. Pacifica lipstick - Compassion Passion (read my review here)
Swatch similarly on the hand. The 100% Pure has a brighter, richer peach color and glides on the lips better. The Pacifica made my lips look dry.
**Sorry, no proper comparison swatch because I already returned the Pacifica, lol.
vs. Silk Naturals lipstick - Velma (read my review here)
Velma has a bit of shimmer in it, isn't as opaque, and formula isn't nearly as luxurious. It looks super orange in the swatch, but looks much more pink on my lips.
Final thoughts
Totally worth it, considering the beautiful packaging, clean ingredients, and creamy formula!
I'll definitely treat myself to the occasional 100% Pure product in the future!
